Video surveillance ecosystem breaks into Middle East market

TRASSIR, a global video surveillance system manufacturer, marks its 20th anniversary this year. Since its start in 2002, TRASSIR has grown to become a global supplier that boasts a presence in more than 38 countries. TRASSIR has built an entire video surveillance ecosystem combining CCTV cameras, video recorders, video management servers, cloud services, neural analytics, and access control systems. These ecosystem components have been smartly integrated into top-quality projects worldwide. With its wide expertise (more than 500,000 projects completed), the company is constantly growing and bringing value to customers. Today TRASSIR offers an environment for providing security in different fields: retail stores, city surveillance, traffic, building, banking, and much more. The main focus is on software components, especially video analytics solutions.

Despite COVID-related challenges, the video surveillance market still has growth potential. Smart city and urban solutions have gained a lot of momentum across the Middle East. TRASSIR recently achieved significant success in Middle East markets and specific countries, including Kuwait. Together with its regional business partner, Blatean Security Solutions, TRASSIR is already well recognized by many consumers, and a pool of smart video analytics-based solutions has already been implemented in various projects and businesses. For example, the University of the Kuwait National Guard benefited both from a comprehensive video surveillance system solution and after-sales support. Another success milestone is TRASSIR’s CCTV system for addressing security issues at Al Nabhan Mosque.

There are two more projects in Kuwait worth mentioning. TRASSIR solutions are being used at local fast-food chains, such as Elevation Burger and Best Burger in Town. Elevation Burger was named one of the fastest-growing casual restaurant chains, catering to health-conscious clients. Best Burger in Town is a young, ambitious company that recently started its journey with picnic kits and very quickly grew into a major burger chain. The task was to introduce smart technologies that would optimize order pick-up in the drive-through area. The solution sped up customer service in the parking lot. The project has increased loyalty and the number of regular customers. The number of order mix-ups has dropped to zero. Integration of TRASSIR technologies into the restaurant’s POS system and license plate identification for cars in the parking lot which placed orders were factors that helped the project achieve success.

Automatic vehicle identification via license plate has proven to be a valuable solution. Focus on the Middle East region allowed TRASSIR to localize its software for local license plate recognition. An image processing technology is used to identify vehicles by their license plates, which may be used for various purposes: security control, granting access, or order pick-up as described above. The recognition tasks become even more sophisticated when dealing with license plates in Arabic. TRASSIR engineers did their best to deliver a top-of-the-range solution. TRASSIR will continue to grow its network of customers across the Middle East and develop as a service provider.
