Second phase of Cyber Reskilling Programme launches in Bahrain

The SANS Institute and The Labour Fund (Tamkeen) have officially launched the second phase of the Cyber Reskilling Programme in Bahrain.

The first phase was launched in 2022, and the partnership between the two organisations will see 60 students gain GIAC Security Essentials (GSEC) and GIAC Certified Incident Handler (CCIH) certifications within the same time frame.

Ned Baltagi, SANS Middle East and Africa Managing D, said: “The success of the programme speaks for itself. With 40% of students scoring more than 90% in their GSEC and GCIH exams, and 82% and 86% passing their respective exams on the first attempt, it’s clear that this training is providing students with the necessary tools to achieve their cybersecurity goals.”

With the advent of remote working, we’ve also seen a significant increase in the number of cyberattacks which is also leading to an increased demand for highly qualified cybersecurity specialists.
