(ISC)² partners with UAE Cybersecurity Council

The world’s largest non-profit association of certified cyber security professionals, (ISC)², has announced it’s signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the UAE Cybersecurity Council to provide increased training and professional developments to enhance the UAE cybersecurity workforce.

As part of the MoU, (ISC)² will support the UAE Cyber Security Council in the development of its capacity building programme. The assistance will support certification mapping to internationally recognised standards. Additionally, the UAE Cybersecurity Council will conduct benchmarks to analyse how UAE’s local cybersecurity workforce compares to international standards, demonstrating ways in which the team can improve and grow.

The UAE is seeking to develop itself as a global leader in cybersecurity. Through this collaboration with (ISC)², the country will continue to improve its existing cybersecurity talent at a time when the threat landscape is becoming more sophisticated and well-resourced.

“This collaboration addresses some of the most pressing workforce-related challenges and sets up the UAE workforce with the necessary skills and knowledge to bolster their cyber resilience within the region and throughout the world,” said Clar Rosso, CEO of (ISC)².

H.E. Dr Mohamed Al-Kuwaiti, Head of Cybersecurity from the UAE Government added: “We look forward to working with (ISC)² to further develop the UAE cybersecurity workforce and increase cybersecurity awareness, fostering greater national defences.”

Recently, cybersecurity data centres and firms are becoming more and more common in Saudi Arabia and the UAE. The partnership between (ISC)² and the UAE will populate these businesses with a skilled workforce.
