06 Jun IP cameras from Hanwha Techwin help students at Turkish university
Around 450 Hanwha Techwin cameras have been installed at multiple campuses at Beykent University in Istanbul, Turkey to assist medical students with their studies.
As part of their studies medical students at the University need to take lab exercises in audiometry and advanced simulation. However only three out of 20 students in a class were able to observe audiometry tests and simulation in the labs form the outside.
Megapixel high resolution cameras (5 of SND-6084R, 11 of XNO-8080R) were installed so that students outside the lab are able to observe what is happening when hearing tests are being carried out. Wisenet cameras are also being used to transfer images and sounds from the department’s three simulation rooms.
Additional cameras from Wisenet have been deployed across campuses’ classroom as well as the Medical School and Faculty of Dentistry.
“The most important reason for us choosing Wisenet products was the efficient way they work smoothly with software applications. The functionality promised to us at the sales stage has been delivered and the Hanwha Techwin team in the Turkey office have handled the project with care from start to finish. As a result, we will be continuing to install Wisenet cameras in other locations throughout the university and are planning to have about 700 installed by the end of the project,” said Barkin Oktem, IT manager at Beykent University.
Beykent University in Istanbul Turkey was established as a non-profit organization by Adem Celik-Beykent Educational Foundation and started its education programs in 1997. Since then, it has grown its teaching and research facilities over five campuses for a population of approximately 29,000 students. The university offers a high-quality learning experience which includes 72 Associate’s degrees, 69 Bachelor’s degrees and over 50 post postgraduate programs.
