Announcing the Dubai Fintech Summit

The Dubai Fintech Summit is set to take place on the 8th-9th of May. The technological innovation showcase event is being held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai; Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance in the UAE; and President of the Dubai International Financial Centre.

The FinTech and Innovation sector in the Middle East, Africa and South Asia (MEASA) region is growing at a rapid pace, with a market value forecasted to double in size from US$135 billion in 2021 to US$226 billion in 2027, according to DIFC FinTech Hive’s 2022 FinTech Report.

In line with that, recently, there has been a push for better risk infrastructure to boost fintech in Gulf countries.

The summit will utilise this popularity and success, by bringing together over 5,000 of the global fintech and innovation experts to discuss innovations and challenges in the sector, deep diving into the future of finance and the marketplace. Topics discussed will include Web 3.0, Metaverse and the role of Blockchain in decentralising finance, regulation and policy making, alongside the need for greater financial inclusivity.

“The demand for fintech services has grown significantly in the last few years, empowered by digital technologies and innovation across sectors. In recent years, DIFC has successfully cemented its position as the finance and innovation hub in the MEASA region by offering the most comprehensive fintech and venture capital environments,” said Mohammad Alblooshi, Head of DIFC Innovation hub and the FinTech Hive.
