Vinchin launches Backup & Recovery v6.5

Vinchin launches Backup & Recovery v6.5

Vinchin Backup & Recovery v6.5 has been launched offering next-generation, innovative data protection solutions for advanced backup and restore performance.

The new release provides multi-tenant management mode for managed service providers to deliver both Backup as-a-service (BaaS) and Disaster-Recovery as-a-service (DRaaS). It features complete data protection capabilities all integrated into one platform and can help customers build a more scalable backup infrastructure that grows with their business.

Secure access is at the heart of v6.5. The backup environment for each tenant is completed isolated, so only authorised users are able to access the company resources via the self-service portal. For the most critical data security levels can be further enhanced with role-based controls, allowing master admins to set restricted resource access permission for other users.

The cross-platform recovery (V2V) feature means you can switch IT workloads from one virtual platform to another or quickly recover key services or data files to a new virtual platform, with minimal software deployment costs.

Backup & Recovery v6.5 also includes Configuration Backup with both manual and automatic settings. In order to prevent data loss caused by ransomware or other malware in a more effective way, unique data encryption technology and backup storage protection technology are newly applied to Vinchin Backup & Recovery v6.5. All critical backups are simultaneously encrypted by bank-level algorithm ensuring there is no access to data files for those who shouldn’t have access.

Additional features customers can look forward to include: improved date restore performance; the requirement to enter a password before job deletion to ensure no accidental losses; a user-friendly icon design and enhanced data deduplication performance.
