Trend Micro launches consumer security business in Saudi Arabia

Trend Micro has announced the launch of a consumer-focused business in the Kingdom at @Hack. The new company will centre on safeguarding the digital environments of families, homes and communities across Saudi Arabia.

Trend Micro H1 2021 mid-year round-up report revealed that home networks in the region were becoming a major attraction for cybercriminals, as they look to pivot to corporate systems. The company’s Smart Home Network (SHN) solutions have been responsible for blocking nearly three million inbound and outbound attacks and preventing over six million such SHN events that could mean home devices are at risk of attack.

Dr. Moataz Bin Ali, Vice President & Managing Director, MENA for Trend Micro, said of the new launch: “As we forefront the movement on safeguarding enterprises and digital infrastructures in Saudi Arabia, people remain at the core of our strategy.

“The launch of consumer-focused solutions is a leap forward to securing individuals, families and communities working and learning remotely from home. We at Trend Micro, consider this to be our prime responsibility to secure environments that are extensively used by the masses and will continue to do so with innovative industry-leading solutions.”

The news will support the Saudi Vision 2030, and the digital transformation and cybersecurity stance that the Kingdom is taking.
