The third cyber security expert workshop (Stadia) has wrapped up, following three days of sharing best security practice ahead of the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

Organised by the Safety and Security Operations Committee (SSOC) of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 it ran in cooperation with Project Stadia of the International Criminal Police Organization (INTERPOL).

Project Stadia is a Qatari project that was established in 2012 in cooperation with INTERPOL. Its aim is to help INTERPOL member states develop and implement security and police measured ahead of major sporting events.

The workshop was run with a number of experts from INTERPOL’s member states and covered topics that relate to the use of technology for securing sporting events such as the World Cup. Participants shared best practice and ideas on a range of issues such as crowd management system, security and safety systems for the tournaments, video analysis systems and anti-drone tech.
