Regional data centre to be established in Bahrain

The Arab Federation for Digital Economy (AFDE) has signed a memorandum of understanding with ATDXT LLC to launch a regional data centre, the first cooperation of its kind in the area.

Situated in Bahrain, the data centre will be used by companies and government and civilian entities from across Arab League countries and will be centred on data protection and security improvements, amongst other areas.

ATDXT LLC is a digital transformation company based in the UAE. Its founder, GS Murphy, commented: “The focus of this initiative will remain to be on digital transformation enablement that will improve competitiveness of the Arab nations and foster their integration into the global economy.

Foreign Minister of Bahrain, Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, added: “This partnership will enable us to contribute to the transformation of the digital outlook of the countries of the Middle East and to continue to provide leading services to our citizens, residents and regions as a whole.”
