Partnership steps up efforts to increase IT certification and bolster cyber security in Middle East

CompTIA, the Computing Technology Industry Association, is to partner with Middle East General Enterprises (MGE). The world’s leading technology association will partner with Abu Dhabi-based MGE Group in a strategic move, as it continues its efforts to raise awareness of the importance of IT training and certification, as well as bolstering cybersecurity across the Middle East.

With the global IT industry projected to grow by 4.1 per cent in 2017[1], the partnership will see CompTIA and MGE working together to further drive business in the region, leveraging access to MGE’s established channel of networks, partners and infrastructure and CompTIA’s vendor-neutral certifications. The partnership will also allow MGE to strengthen its IT and cybersecurity practice and provide its end-users with proactive integrated security solutions.

Mark Plunkett, director of Emerging Markets (Europe and Middle East), CompTIA, said: “Whether it be matters of cybersecurity, skills training or compliance, the Middle East presents unique challenges and opportunities for the tech industry. While CompTIA has achieved significant growth in the Middle East to date, a strategic partnership with MGE was the natural progression for us to take our business to the next level in the region. As committed partners, we anticipate a long and successful journey together.”

Sharief Fahmy, cep, Middle East General Enterprises, commented: “We are delighted to be partnering with CompTIA. As the voice of the world’s information technology industry advancing the global interests of IT organisations, CompTIA will bring an invaluable perspective to MGE and our established network of partners. We look forward to working together to further this vital work in the region.”

CompTIA recently unveiled CompTIA Cybersecurity Analyst (CSA+), a vendor-neutral certification and the first training tool incorporating in-depth behavioural analytics for cybersecurity defences. CompTIA Cybersecurity Analyst (CSA+) is said to be the first of its kind to bring behavioural analytics to the forefront of cyberthreat detection, rather than focusing solely on the technical aspects of the sector.
