Johnson Controls launches next gen Tyco Illustra Pro PTZ cameras

Johnson Controls has launched four high performance Illustra Pro Gen4 series PTZs. The cameras feature AI-enabled edge analytics which is used to detect and classify objects such as people, cars or motorbikes. Intelligent Guard auto-tracking functions are based on face or people detection.

Outdoor models have an IR distance of up to 200metres with a -50C to +60C operating range to ensure high quality images even in challenging weather conditions. The 2MP version offers up to 42X optical zoom; the 4K version offers up to 22X optical zoom.

Indoor models offer up to 30X optical zoom (2MP) and 22X optical zoom (4K) and come with an integrated microphone to deliver support for a soon-to-be-launched suite of Audio AI analytics.

The direct drive motors provide security teams with the ability to accurately track subjects in the case of mission critical applications and deliver quiet, fast and smooth operations. All four cameras feature Smart Wide Dynamic Range (WDR) technology to improve the quality of images captured regardless of the lighting environment. With no need for operator intervention, Smart WDR automatically adjusts tone mapping intensity and optimises image quality by enhancing darkened areas.

As expected, users have the ability to set up real-time, user-customisable event alarms and the suite of analytics includes object detection, crown formation, object abandoned/removed, and dwell and perimeter protection. The camera offer end-to-end video encryption including camera to VMS and SD card video encryption.
