Dubai launches universal blueprint for Artificial Intelligence

Dubai announced a new plan to establish itself as a global hub for artificial intelligence (AI) innovation, governance, and investment.

The city is set to launch an incubator for investment, create AI CEO roles at all government entities, and introduce a commercial license for businesses in the sector.

Dubai will also host an AI Week for education establishments as the emerging sector boosts plans to hit AED100bn (USD$27.2bn) economy targets.

The Dubai Universal Blueprint for Artificial Intelligence, launched by the Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of Dubai Executive Council, Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, is a yearly plan focused on harnessing the potential of technology to achieve quality-of-life-focused outcomes.

The plan aims to make Dubai the city that offers the most conducive environment for economic growth, the best city for technology utilization, and the fastest in adopting advanced applications.

The key goal of the plan is to ensure the well-being of Dubai’s citizens and residents.

Dubai’s annual plan for accelerating the adoption of AI applications and implementations serves as a roadmap for enhancing the well-being of its people by adopting AI across all sectors and areas crucial to the emirate’s future.

The plan also reflects Dubai’s commitment to leveraging new AI technologies to create a brighter future in all sectors.

Dubai’s evolution of AI has accelerated in recent years, presenting numerous opportunities for nations and governments adept at utilising it, while posing challenges to those unable to keep pace.
