ASSA ABLOY, the global leader in door opening solutions held a successful seminar with its major partner Universal Building Materials Merchants Co Ltd (UBM), one of the largest door and hardware distributors in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The seminar took place in Riyadh at Marriott Hotel on 11 April 2018, concentrating on the latest trends and innovations in the areas of door opening and access control with KSA being one of the biggest players in gulf construction market in line with KSA’a Vision 2030 and economic improvements.

The commercial security market in GCC is expected to grow up to USD $5.6 billion in 2022 with heavy investments in the infrastructure, governmental regulations and attention to the possible security threats activities with access control to be one of the biggest growth sectors in the region”, noted Nassim Abu Yousef, vice president of ASSA ABLOY Security Solutions Middle East. “In this seminar our focus was to present innovative and futuristic products and solutions for Saudi market” added Nassim Abu Yousef.

Another highlight of the evening became a video presentation, showcasing innovative, smart, BIM-enabled product specification tool called ASSA ABLOY Openings Studio™ that streamlines collaboration and information sharing. The audience was impressed to know about ASSA ABLOY Openings Studio® is a full-featured, password protected suite of BIM software tools for creating and visualizing 3D doors, frames, and hardware objects and modifying their associated parameters for use in design, construction, and facility management. At the moment, this tool is actively utilized in Europe and USA across multiple projects, with a great potential once launched in the Middle East in the foreseeable future.

The seminar was a perfect opportunity to mark UBM and ASSA ABLOY’s alliance, while demonstrating the latest product developments in the areas of security and access control. In addition, ASSA ABLOY used this platform to launch three new products for the KSA market, such as Aperio H100 – an easy-to – integrate wireless access control inside the stylish door handle, CY110 patented master-key cylinder, as well as presented a new design of Door Closer. The high profile seminar was attended by more than 200 industry professionals followed by networking dinner.
